Dong Yuan (董源, ca 934 – ca 962) was a Chinese painter active in the Southern Tang Kingdom of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms Period. He was born in Zhongling (鐘陵), which is the present day Jinxian (進賢) of Jiangxi Province.
Dong Yuan is especially known for his landscape paintings. He exemplified the elegant style which would become the standard for brush painting in China for the next nine centuries. He and his pupil Juran (巨然) were the founders of the southern school (南派) of landscape painting.
